Pitch & Ledger is an independent publication about the business of sport.

We cover the systems behind the spectacle: media rights, ownership, investment, sponsorship, ticketing, venues, regulation, salaries, and the commercial structures that shape what happens on the field.

The starting point is usually familiar — a club, a league, a tournament, a deal, a stadium or a player.

The goal is to explain the less visible system underneath it.

Pitch & Ledger is not a breaking-news publication. We use major events and recognizable sports stories as entry points for deeper analysis of how money, rights and incentives move through sport.

Coverage currently includes football, Formula 1, the NBA, NFL, MLB, tennis and college sports.

Our work is built around publicly available reporting, primary documents and clearly attributed sources. When figures are estimates, projections or reported terms rather than confirmed facts, we aim to make that distinction clear.
